Indonesia is a Mecca for underwater enthusiasts. It is also a country considered an epicenter of biodiversity, both by land and sea.

Indonesia is host to the greatest variety of marine life anywhere in the world.

The waters here offer outstanding and exhilarating world class dive sites and experiences for snorkelers, divers and underwater photographers of all levels.

Diving in Indonesia is really in a class of its own.

Located at the heart of the ‘Coral Triangle’, Indonesia is home to hundreds of species of colorful coral and its reefs, warm waters, wall dives, blue water drop offs, mangrove flats, sea grass beds, pinnacles and open ocean dives that will truly mesmerize you. Enjoy the thrill of drift and reef diving, investigate the many World War II relics, or explore the deep trenches and drop offs. There is a multitude of exotic tropical marine life for you to marvel at and admire at your leisure and a true kaleidoscope of colour in this magical underwater landscape.

To indicate what you can expect to see, below is just an inkling of what just a few of the archipelago islands can offer you:

Komodo lies east of Bali and south of Sulawesi. Here the waters are highly rich in nutrients and because of the extraordinary eco system that exists here, Komodo National Park was made a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The waters of Komodo National Park are known for their strong currents and therefore best for intermediate to advanced divers. Komodo is a fantastic dive destination, with waters offering a remarkable marine life. The waters of Komodo are known for their mantas, barracuda, octopus, cattle fish, scorpion fish, dogtooth tuna, dolphins, turtles, parrot fish, black and white tip sharks, dugong, pygmy seahorses and nudibranchs.

Labuan Bajo, at the western end of Flores island and located in the Nusa Tenggara region of the archipelago, is the portal to Komodo & the Komodo Marine Park, the Rinca Islands and Banta. Besides the surreal sunsets that can take your breath away here, below the water level lies an incredible reef life with some superb muck dive sites.

Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat is as stunning above the water as it is below. It casts a spell on all those that visit as it has an incredible diversity of habitats to explore.

If you want to see giant mantas, this is the place to come. Visit the manta cleaning stations located here where you can see up to 30 rays gather and up to 6m deep.

Considered to be the most bio-diverse marine region on earth, an example of just some of the underwater treasures that you can find here include: green sea turtles, Indian lionfish, large wrasse, white and black tip sharks. And that’s beside the mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colour that the coral gardens offer those of you that venture beneath the water in this area. The underwater world of Raja Ampat is home to the most impressive unmatched list of existing species.

Raja Ampat has been part of the Shark and Ray Sanctuary since 2010 and therefore, offers these beautiful animals a safe haven to produce.

Sulawesi offers some superb diving in locations such as the Lembeh Strait and Wakatobi. In these waters you can encounter sea turtles, blue ringed octopus, world class coral gardens, large schools of fish or perhaps you may spot the pilot whales that migrate yearly through these waters from the South Pole. An interesting fact to note is that scientists have found in North Sulawesi the prehistoric coelacanth fish (a “living fossil” fish) that predates dinosaurs living some 400 million years ago! Divers come to dive the waters of Sulawesi to find leaf and Ambon scorpion fish, seahorses, snake eels, hairy frogfish, cuttlefish, sea fans…..just a few species on the list that extends to 2000! It also offers some of the best muck dive sites in the world.

With all this choice and a whole lot more, what else could you hope for….?!
